What is an Entity? What is Entity Possession?
An "entity" is a discarnate or non-physical being that attaches itself to a person, or host, in order to draw the energy it needs to meet its desires. Through this attachment the entity affects the physical, emotional, and or mental health of the host; the entity can cause problems or aggravate existing ones; it can also lead the host to criminal behavior.
The host's behavior, emotions, or desires attract the entity since an entity usually chooses a person who has similar needs: an entity that retains an unsatisfied craving for chocolate will latch on to a person who adores chocolate; one that loves playing drums will attach to a drum player; one that craves heroin will latch on to a heroin user who may become an addict under the added impact of the entity's craving. The host bears the ultimate responsibility and must deal with the behavior that attracts the entity.
Typical Symptoms of Possession
These include a lack of energy, weakness in the body, severe depression, disturbed thoughts, and/or irrational thinking.
In general a person who is possessed can be identified as being extremely negative and severely depressed, – and especially if anti-social behavior is exhibited.
Indications of possession include:
• Strong negativity
• Deep depression
• Rapid mood changes
• Uncontrolled temper
• Self inflicted harm
• Violent behavior
• Criminal behavior
• Suicidal tendencies
• Chronic illness
• Dual (or multiple) personalities
Even one or two of these indicators may be all that is necessary.
In this context we include attachments from the fragments which are released from a Soul upon death. These fragments then attach to people who are alive, and are the most common sources of unwanted and negative influences upon human beings.
The diseases from which the person suffered may manifest from the fragment into you; these cause many illnesses that the medical systems fail to heal. What is most important that we remove them in a compassionate loving way. Do not feed it fear.
How does an entity enter or attach to the body?
There is a protective shield between our etheric and astral bodies. When this shield is damaged, torn open or temporarily collapsed, an entity can enter and attach to the body. How can this protective shield become damaged?
• Any great emotional shock can create an explosion in the astral body that rips the shield open: terrible grief, fright, rage, panic, terror, Fear etc.
• Heavy use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.
• Incomplete, forced, or misguided meditation practices.
What are the high-risk conditions for attracting an entity?
Repeated, extreme behaviors open you to entity possession. These include:
• Abusing or being addicted to alcohol, drugs (including marijuana), or tobacco. A word of caution: You are unlikely to attract an entity if you enjoy a beer or glass of wine occasionally. But even relatively light and regular use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco can create small tears in your protective shield.
What effect does an entity have on a person?
• Causes or exacerbates fatigue because it is sucking life energy from its host.
• Magnifies a person's tendency toward physically, emotionally, or psychologically abusing family members or others.
• Promotes addictions to or compulsive abuse of alcohol and drugs, as well as tobacco, sex, food, or gambling.
• Intensifies feelings like rage, grief, fear.
• Sometimes causes or magnifies illnesses, tumors, severe headaches or migraines, food cravings, violent tendencies, depression, anxiety, wild changes of attitude, irresponsible actions, or momentary insanity.
Removing the entity does not completely solve the problem. An entity attaches to a person because of that person's vulnerability due to uncontrolled desires or unresolved emotional trauma; it is the person's responsibility to deal with these. To permanently resist entity attachments, your mind (the mental body), your higher faculty, can be engaged to control your astral/emotional body.

The main cause of picking up negative energies is being ungrounded. When we are energetically connected to the earth there is a natural flow of energy through our feet into the earth. When we sit still, drive, think or when we work on a computer energy builds up around our head. This can cause us to become disconnected from the earth.
When we move our body and walk around the energy that has built up around our head is released from the body.
The feet are like the negative pole of a battery. When we walk on the earth the body rebalances itself. This works best when we walk on grass, rock or sand in bare feet. Walking in the city on pavements is not so effective. The reason why we are ungrounded is generally because we have build up of negative emotions in our body that we have not dealt with. The reason we are ungrounded is that it is painful to feel these emotions so we disconnect from our body. Eventually part of our spirit detaches itself from our body. This is a very common occurrence when people grow up in violent or dysfunctional households. In Shamanism this is called 'soul loss'.
Another way that we block out painful emotions is by using alcohol, smoking, drugs, eating or watching TV. All these activities stop us from being present in our body. Only when we are fully present in our body can we deal with the difficult emotions and issues that we are running away from.
